Conduct an exit interview
Key points
Conducting exit interviews can provide the employer with invaluable data about its employment practices and any treatment perceived by employees as unsatisfactory or unfair.
Provided that exit interviews are conducted in a sensitive, fair and non-threatening way, many employees will reveal the truth about their reasons for leaving.
It is best if the person conducting the exit interview is not the departing employee's line manager.
