Use the Acas arbitration scheme to resolve a dispute
Key points
The Acas voluntary arbitration scheme provides an alternative to an employment tribunal hearing in limited types of tribunal cases.
The agreement to go to arbitration must be in writing, and state that the parties have agreed to submit the dispute to arbitration in accordance with the Acas scheme. In agreeing to use the scheme, the parties are obliged to accept all the provisions of the scheme, including that the arbitrator's decision is final and binding.
