Where a risk to a pregnant employee has been identified that cannot be avoided, what is the first step that the employer should take?

In accordance with reg.16(2) of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 (SI 1999/3242), the first step that an employer should take when a risk to a pregnant employee has been identified is temporarily to change her working conditions or hours of work, if it is reasonable to do so and where such action will avoid the identified risk.
