Ascertain what constitutes working time for the purposes of the Working Time Regulations 1998
Key points
The Working Time Regulations 1998 set out minimum requirements for employers to meet relating to weekly working hours, rest breaks and rest periods.
To ensure that they are complying with the provisions of the Regulations, employers must understand what constitutes "working time". For example, they must be clear about how to deal with time spent travelling, time spent on training courses and time spent on call.
