XpertHR benchmarking users can access a treasure-trove of interactive benchmarking data from our 2009/2010 HR roles and responsibilities survey. The survey looks in detail at the composition of HR functions, what they do, how they do it, and the budgets they have to work with.

As I explain in the latest XpertHR video, a number of clear messages emerge when the XpertHR benchmarking service is used to drill down into the data from this survey. These include the following:

  • Having a documented HR strategy in place has a significant impact on how HR departments rate their own effectiveness.
  • HR budgets have been hit hard by the recession.
  • HR has become more influential during the recession.

The benchmarking data for this survey offer a wide range of further key measures for HR departments, each of which can be customised by applying the available refinement options. These include the following:

I hope these tips will help you get the most out of the benchmarking data from this survey. But, as ever, please get in touch if you have any queries about the XpertHR benchmarking service.
