BBC: agreement boosts rates by 2.9%

BBC employees have agreed a 2.9% basic award, effective from 1 August 2004. The review covers all of the corporation's workers, with the exception of around 2,000 senior editorial, management and production staff who are subject to individual performance-related reviews (see below) and staff in most of the commercial subsidiary companies (BBC Worldwide Ltd, BBC Technology Ltd and BBC Resources Ltd) who have separate bargaining arrangements.
