Castle Cement: 3.95% pay increase

In a deal negotiated with Amicus, the GMB and the Transport and General Workers' Union, Castle Cement has agreed a 3.95% increase on basic rates and allowances for approximately 600 craft and process workers employed at the company's plants in Ketton in Rutland, Padeswood in Wales, Ribblesdale in Lancashire, and its import terminals at Avonmouth and West Thurrock. The resulting increases are effective for 12 months from 1 January 2005.
