Deaths at work up by one-third
As OHR reported in September, the newly published health and safety statistics12 show that there were 295 fatal accidents at work during 2000/2001, up 34% from the previous year (see OHR 93 pp.2-3). Over one-third (36%) of all deaths occurred in the construction industry and 17% in agriculture.
