Demolition deal gives 11 % rise over two years

In a new two-year deal, the Demolition Industry Conciliation Board (DICB) has agreed a 5.5% increase in basic rates from 20 July 2005, with a further 5.5% uplift payable in the second year, effective from 20 July 2006. Covering around 30,000 operatives, the settlement was negotiated between the employers' organisation, the National
Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC), and the TGWU, GMB and UCATT trade unions.
