A settlement covering an estimated 20,000 freelancers working in the film and television industry has resulted in a 3.86% basic pay rise, effective from 1 April 2005. The deal was negotiated between the Producers Alliance for Cinema and Television (PACT) and the Broadcasting, Entertainment, Cinematographic and Theatre Union (BECTU).
