Scottish printers: 2.75% pay increase

Under the terms of a settlement negotiated by the Scottish Print Employers' Federation (SPEF) and the Graphical Paper and Media Union (GPMU), minimum grade rates for some 8,000 Scottish printworkers employed in general printing companies have increased by 2.75% with effect from 1 July 2004. Craft workers (grade B) - the largest category of employees covered by the deal - received a rise of £6.60 a week, bringing their minimum weekly rate to £246.54.
