Third stage of deal for electrical contractors

The third and final stage of a three-year pay and conditions agreement, covering an estimated 50,000 approved electricians, technicians and labouring workers in the electrical contracting industry in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, has yielded a 5% increase in minimum industry rates. The deal, agreed between the Electrical Contractors' Association and Amicus trade union - the two parties comprising the Joint Industry Board (JIB) for the electrical contracting industry - is effective for 12 months from 8 January 2007.
