A three-year pay and conditions agreement at Lafarge Cement UK has resulted in first-year increases in basic salaries, salary scales and allowances of 4.25%, with effect from 1 February 2007, one month later than the normal January anniversary date. The second and third stages of the deal, which will take effect from 1 January 2008 and 2009 respectively, are based on an “RPI-plus 0.25%” formula subject to a minimum increase of 2.5% and a cap of 4.5%.
