Three-year deal for the refractory industry

Bricklayers, masons, operatives and labourers covered by the national agreement negotiated between the Refractory Users Federation and construction trade union UCATT will have their basic rates increased by between 3% and 6%, effective from 1 January 2007, in the first stage of a three-year pay and conditions agreement. Refractory products are fire-resistant substances able to resist high temperatures, and are used in kilns and furnaces.
