Two-year BBC deal increases basic pay by 4%

The salaries of 20,000 professional and technical staff at the BBC were increased by 4% from 1 August 2007, subject to a guaranteed minimum increase of £1,000 a year. The pay review is the first stage of a two-year pay and conditions agreement negotiated between the BBC and its recognised trade unions: Broadcasting Entertainment Cinematograph and Theatre Union; the National Union of Journalists; and the Amicus section of Unite.
