Right to statutory sick pay for 10-day period of self-isolation due to coronavirus takes effect

Implementation date: 5 August 2020

The Statutory Sick Pay (General) (Coronavirus Amendment) (No.5) Regulations 2020 (SI 2020/829) provide that employees who are unable to work because they are required to self-isolate are entitled to statutory sick pay for the full minimum 10-day period of self-isolation. The Government extended the self-isolation period from seven to 10 days on 30 July 2020.
