Is a demobilised reservist permitted to return to work before the end of his or her post-operational leave?

On returning home from armed forces duties, a reservist is first assessed by medical staff and then given a period of post-operational leave. During this period, the reservist is still technically called out by the Ministry of Defence and is required to follow his or her commanding officer's orders. While on post-operational leave, he or she will not be allowed to return to work without his or her commander's permission, which will normally not be given until the call-out has finished.
