In an interview what steps must an employer take to accommodate a disabled candidate for a job?

Under s.20 of the Equality Act 2010, employers must make reasonable adjustments to accommodate the needs of disabled job applicants in order to offset any disadvantage that their disability would otherwise cause them. The objective should be to take steps to ensure that a disabled applicant can compete for the job on a level playing field with other applicants. Reasonable adjustments could include arranging for a sign language interpreter to assist communication with a deaf job candidate or rearranging the furniture in the interview room to allow easier access for a wheelchair user.
