Letter seeking an employee's agreement to a lay-off (no contractual right to lay off - express consent necessary)
Author: Darren Newman
When to use this model lay-off letter
Use this model HR letter to seek an employee's express agreement to being laid off, where there is no contractual right to lay off.
Warning: A "lay-off" is not the same as "furloughing". For employers that are making use of the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, furloughing the employee may be an alternative - see Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme.
