Pay awards fall back to 3%

A decline in pay settlement levels disguises the wide range of April pay deals so far, with more awards settled at both the top and bottom of the scale.

Provisional analysis of pay settlements collected for the three months to 30 April 2007 reveals a sharp decrease in the IRS measure of pay awards - the midpoint in the range of basic pay deals - to 3%.
