Pay trends April 2013

Pay awards continue to be marginally higher in 2013 than they were in late 2012, but public-sector settlements look set to exert a downward influence on the April 2013 wages round.

  • The median basic pay award in the three months to 31 March 2013 remains at 2.5%.
  • The most common basic increase is 2%, but pay freezes still account for more than one in 10 of all pay awards.
